The second Heatmiser 7" single, Sleeping Pill, was released in 1993 by Cavity Search Records. Until recently, I hadn't seen an exact release date for this single but Cavity Search Records recently confirmed that the 10/23/93 Heatmiser show (see next entry) was a release show for this single. So the exact date could be 10/23/93 but sometimes release shows don't happen on the exact date of the release so I'm just leaving this as a general October entry for the sake of simplicity. The b-side of this record is Temper.
Both of these songs ended up appearing on the Cop and Speeder album in 1994. The liner notes for Cop and Speeder say that the versions on this single are different versions of the songs. So I also have no idea when these two versions were recorded, thus I didn't even make a timeline page for the recording of these songs.
From the back cover of the single:
- Produced by Heatmiser and Thee Slayer Hippy
- Engineered by Bob Stark
- Mixed by Tony Lash
- Songs written by Heatmiser
- Photographs by JJ Gonson
- Sleeve design by Neil Gust
For more information on this single, see the Slepping Pill page.
Some photos below taken from Discogs. There are also three Cavity Search catalogs below that show Sleeping Pill for sale and then sold out. Also a part of an insert for the compilation CD called REP 1994 Fall Sampler which featured the song on the CD.
