According to the information online that Eddie Brock and others compiled, three different sets of recording sessions took place from March 1996 to May 1996. All these sessions were for songs that primarily ended up on the album Either/Or. They've been labeled as  "2 Either/Or Sessions at the Shop", "Either/Or Sessions at Elliott's House", and "Either/Or Sessions - Bolme Apartment". Different original sources were used to put this information together such as  the book "Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing" and Larry Crane.
