Elliott and Neil Gust did some recording with a 4-track recorder while at Hampshire College. Neil recounts some of those experiences on page 59 of Autumn deWilde's book (see photo below). Alphabet Town/Eddie Brock labels these as being from 1987-1988, likely because Neil's quote mentions them being eighteen years old at the time.
Eddie Brock's research also mentions a post by someone on Sweet Adeline that claims Elliott and Neil wrote a song called "The Dicks on D-3" in reference to the other students who stole their mics mentioned by Neil.
