The third Stranger Than Fiction cassette, called Waiting for the Second Hand, was released on an unknown date in 1986. It would have been toward the end of the year since it was recorded on September 14, 1986.
According to the cassette liner notes, the band was:
Garrick Duckler - standup bass, flounder
Jason Hornick - keyboards, vocals, barracuda
Adam Koval - drums
Steven Smith - vocals, guitar, trout
The entire cassette was put on YouTube in 2022 by the account called punchandamanda. According to that account, Jason Hornick was the lead vocalist on Punch and Judy, 11:37 Passing, I Wish I Could Not Say I Wish, and Egypt. Also Garrick Duckler was lead vocalist on Sophistry. So I think Elliott was the lead vocalist on all the rest.
The cassette liner notes state that it was recorded at Rainbow Recording on September 14, 1986. It was engineered by Gailen Hegna and produced by the band.
